Other Wildlife

Idle Valley Nature Reserve is of great county importance for all its flora and fauna and to date has recorded 30 species of Butterflies, an impressive and growing 705 species of Moths and 21 species of Dragonflies, the most recent addition being Willow Emerald Damselfly in 2021. Beetles, Spiders, Hoverflies, Ants, Grasshoppers and several other types of insects have been studied extensively across the site but are too numerous to list here.
