Bittern Pools (IVNR)

This area is very secluded with no public access and only viewable from Hawthorn Lane track on its eastern edge. It would be nice to open this area up in future and allow visitors some access into this unspoiled former gravel quarry. As its name suggests this area has held wintering Bittern on quite several occasions but many other birds reside here throughout the year including Green Woodpecker, Tawny Owl, Kingfisher, Little Grebe, Great Crested Grebe, Reed Warbler, Garden Warbler and Willow Tit.
